DFCA votes down Fall Rodeo

This October would’ve been the 3rd Annual Wayne Wilson Rodeo for the DFCA, but the event was voted down for two main reasons.  The first being that the cold, rainy weather on Saturday, April 9th, during the 33rd Annual Cave Creek Fiesta Days Rodeo seriously impacted attendance resulting in a huge loss for the Association.  The second factor in canceling the Fall Rodeo was the very unfortunate grand theft larceny at the rodeo grounds.  All DFCA property contained in the connex box was stolen – another huge loss and setback for the organization.

The DFCA is focused this Fall on fundraising efforts in order to recover from these losses. In October, they will volunteer at the Running of the Bulls in Cave Creek and have been named as one of the beneficiaries of this event.  The DFCA is currently looking for volunteers for the weekend of October 14, 15 & 16th.  Please email volunteer@cavecreekprorodeo.com if you can help out.

The second fundraising effort will be on November 4th, during Wild West Days.  Please plan on attending the 1st Annual Wild West Casino Night for an amazing evening of fun, gambling and entertainment at Harold’s Corral.  The Grand Prize for the evening is a WNFR package that includes a 2-night stay at the Mirage in Las Vegas along with two tickets to the National Finals, compliments of our good friends at the PRCA!

For information on tickets to the Wild West Casino Night or to sponsor a table, please email sponsorship@cavecreekprorodeo.com.  The DFCA is counting on the local community to get behind this event to help them raise the funds necessary to recover from April’s loss and also to help replace their stolen property.

Again, there will not be a Fall Rodeo in October.  The 34th Annual Cave Creek Fiesta Days Rodeo will take place March 28 through April 1st, 2012.
